Fery, Broom & Glasspool progress in Wimbledon doubles

British pair Arthur Fery and Charles Broom progressed to the second round of the men's doubles while Lloyd Glasspool reached the third round on another rainy day at Wimbledon.

Having won the first set before play was suspended on Friday, Fery and Broom picked up where they left off to defeat France's Arthur Rinderknech and Nuno Borges of Portugal 6-4 6-4.

They will face seventh seeds Wesley Koolhof of the Netherlands and Croatia's Nikola Mektic next.

Glasspool and his Dutch partner Jean-Julien Rojer beat Belgian 14th seeds Joran Vliegen and Sander Gille 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (7-4) to set up a third-round tie with Germans Hendrik Jebens and Constantin Frantzen.

But there was men's doubles defeat for Julian Cash, who had progressed to the second round with his American partner Robert Galloway on Friday.

They lost 6-7 (5-7) 6-4 7-6 (10-4) to French duo Fabien Reboul and Sadio Doumbia.

In the women's doubles first round, British pair Samantha Murray Sharan and Eden Silva lost 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 to eighth seeds Barbora Krejcikova and Laura Siegemund in a match that also started on Friday.
