FC IfeanyiUbah to maintain momentum for continental slot - Msonter

FC IfeanyiUbah's Tony Msonter believes they can finish in the top three in the Nigeria Professional Football League, and make an instant return to the continent to make a 'bold statement'.

The Nnewi outfit failed to impress in the 2017 Caf Confederation Cup qualifying rounds but Msonter insists it was a first time experience.

The race to make the top three with 12 matches left this term is heating up and the Anambra Warriors currently sit seventh on the league table with 38 points, three points adrift the top three.

"We have worked had to be where we are on the league table and we shall keep up with the momentum as we aim to finish in the top three," Msonter told Goal.

"We didn't stay long in the 2017 Caf Confederation Cup but we have learnt a lot in our debut season playing on the continent. We want to make an instant come back to play on the continent so as to make a bold statement with our performance.

"It's a very tough chase in the domestic league with few matches left this season, teams have stepped up with their performances all in with aim of picking up more points and the same thing applies to us too.

"We know the importance of making the top three because that will give us a ticket to Africa so we are determined. That's my dream and I am very confident that we can achieve it," he concluded.
