Montpellier's former France No.8 Louis Picamoles will join Bordeaux-Begles as medical cover over the coming days, AFP learned on Friday.
Picamoles, 35, who made the last of his 82 Test appearances at the 219 Rugby World Cup, had been expected to leave Montpellier for Stade Chaban-Delmas at the end of the season.
His future club are without injured back-rowers Marco Tauleigne, Mamad Diaby and Beka Gorgadze while Cameron Woki is away with les Bleus' on Six Nations duty and Samoa's Afa Amosa has joined Bayonne.
Picamoles, who has played just four times this term, is set to be joined at the outfit by fellow former international Francois Trinh-Duc who will depart Racing 92 at the end of the campaign.
Bordeaux-Begles are fifth in the table with seven regular season league games left and host second-placed La Rochelle, who are six points ahead, on March 27.
