Emmerdale first look as EastEnders star appears in Gail storyline

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has revealed more details on former EastEnders star Martha Cope's upcoming guest stint.

Martha joins the ITV1 soap next week, taking on the role of newcomer Sophie. This casting news was first revealed a few days ago, when it was teased that Martha would play a relative of one of the villagers.

Emmerdale bosses have now confirmed that Sophie will arrive as part of a new storyline for Ryan Stocks' girlfriend Gail Loman.

Gail, played by Rachael Gill-Davis, returned to the village earlier this year to reconnect with Ryan. She'd previously appeared briefly in 2019.
