Emma Stone had a wardrobe malfunction at the 2024 Oscars

Emma Stone has been killing it this awards season, but she clearly saved her best look for last because wow. She stepped onto the 2024 Oscars red carpet wearing a custom bustier peplum gown by Louis Vuitton, and there are no words. That silhouette! The colour! It’s everything.

But as stunning as her dress looked, she actually suffered a wardrobe malfunction during the ceremony. After winning the Best Actress award for her role in Poor Things, she was asked about her dress to which she replied, "They sewed me back in!"

"Right when I came back, they sewed me back in which was wonderful. I genuinely do think I busted it during ‘I’m Just Ken,’" she said, referring to Ryan Gosling's performance of his iconic song from the Barbie film that he performed during the Oscars ceremony. "I was so amazed by Ryan and what he was doing, and that number just blew my mind and I was right there and I was just going for it and things happen," she laughed.

Emma said in a statement ahead of the Oscars, “Eleven nominations for Poor Things feels like a surreal dream. I am beyond grateful to the Academy for including me as both an actress and producer among this group of exceptional nominees and for recognizing our film in so many categories.” She added, “I am forever thankful for the opportunity to play Bella and see the world through her eyes. She has shown me that life is so much more than just sugar and violence. And to Lily [Gladstone], Carey [Mulligan], Sandra [Hüller], and Annette [Bening], it’s the biggest honour just to be in your company.”

Congrats, Emma!
