Edwards signs new Plymouth deal

Plymouth Argyle captain Joe Edwards has extended his contract until the end of 2026.

Edwards. who turns 34 next month, has been with the Pilgrims since 2019, and has made 228 appearances in all competitions.

The announcement comes after Edwards scored the winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Sunderland last weekend, their first win under new manager Wayne Rooney.

Starting out as a midfielder when signed by Ryan Lowe, Edwards has since switched to wing back and has been a key figure in the two promotions that have seen them rise from League Two to the Championship.
