Yahoo Sport EastEnders' Peter makes another enemy after return to Walford
EastEnders spoilers follow from Wednesday's BBC iPlayer episode (August 23). As these scenes don't air on BBC One until Thursday, some readers may prefer to avoid these storyline details.
EastEnders' Peter Beale accidentally sparks a row with George Knight in the show's latest episode.
The newly-returned character is thrown straight back into trouble thanks to a major misunderstanding at the Queen Vic.
In Wednesday's iPlayer episode, Peter's return is revealed to the Albert Square residents – including his younger brother Bobby and uncle Ben Mitchell.
Peter hasn't been seen in Walford since July 2022, when he fell out with his family and took revenge by stealing from his grandmother Kathy.

As Peter catches up with his brother, Bobby optimistically suggests that he can make amends by paying Kathy back.
Peter sheepishly admits that the money is gone, explaining: "I didn't spend it on me. I've been helping dad out. We've been living together the last few months.
"He's had some problems, some stuff he's had to sort out, and I've just been helping him keep his head above water."
Peter's day gets worse as Ben reacts badly to his return, leading to a public spat at The Vic.

Peter is also unsettled when he learns that Bobby has feelings for Anna Knight. Not keen on the idea of his siblings (who aren't biologically related) becoming a couple, Peter tries to discourage Bobby from pursuing this, although he still doesn't share his knowledge of the Knights' secret connection to the Beale family.
This intervention backfires as Peter's words instead encourage Bobby to share his feelings for Anna and the pair kiss.
Shortly afterwards, the final straw for Peter's disastrous day sees his half-sister Gina proposition him at the pub, unaware that they're related.
A freaked-out Peter causes a commotion as he rejects Gina, infuriating George who responds by physically removing him from the pub and barring him. Is Peter's return to Walford turning into a nightmare?

EastEnders is keeping its usual Monday to Thursday releases on iPlayer this week, despite schedule changes on BBC One.
Episodes are continuing to drop at 6am to maintain the regular release pattern for streaming. There will be no episode on BBC One this evening as the soap makes way for the World Athletics Championships again, but a double bill airs on Thursday from 7pm.
