How on earth was this called not out?

A bizarre umpiring blunder has shocked commentators at the Women’s World T20 tournament.

The strange incident occurred during England’s clash with West Indies on Monday, and left the Windies players aghast.

Shakera Selman was bowling to Natalie Sciver when the English player got a huge nick through to the wicketkeeper.

The Windies all went up and expected the umpire’s finger to do the same, but were shocked when the delivery was signalled a wide.

“Nicked and gone…oh it’s been signalled a wide, would you believe it?” one commentator said.

Luckily the Windies had a DRS review up their sleeves, which they used immediately.

Even with the naked eye you could see a huge deflection off the bat, and DRS quickly ended the debate when it showed a huge spike on ultra edge.

It remains to be seen just what the umpire was looking to have missed the nick.

But it certainly goes to show that DRS is working, despite its critics.
