Earl Thomas reportedly arrested after allegedly violating protective order

Former Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas was reportedly arrested Friday night after an arrest warrant was issued for him in late April. Thomas was reportedly arrested in Orange, Texas, after he was recognized at a restaurant, according to KOMO News in Dallas.

An arrest warrant for Thomas was signed April 27. Thomas is charged with allegedly violating the protective order two or more times within 12 months, a third-degree felony.

Thomas played high school football in Orange and played college football at the University of Texas. He was drafted by the Seahawks with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft and spent the first nine seasons of his career with the club. Thomas spent 2019 with the Baltimore Ravens and has not played in the NFL the past two seasons.

Thomas is reportedly only allowed to communicate with his wife — who has filed for divorce — on a co-parenting app. Thomas reportedly refused to download the app, but has contacted his wife threatening her and their children. Thomas allegedly said he hopes his wife's car drives off the road with the children in it. Thomas also allegedly talked about wanting members of his family to poison the children.

In April, days before the arrest warrant was signed, Thomas said he was trying to make an NFL comeback.
