Why Dylan Walker respects the rival who broke his eye socket

Injured Manly star Dylan Walker has opened up on the unlikely respect he harbours for Melbourne centre Curtis Scott, after the Storm youngster broke his eye socket in Round 11.

Walker, who spent six weeks on the sidelines with the facial injury, only to sustain a knee injury upon his return, said he respected Scott for standing up to him and ‘not taking any sh*t’.

“It was a set back for me, but I respect it in a way from him,” Walker told The Sydney Morning Herald.

“I like it because he doesn’t take shit. I like it when a person doesn’t take shit from anybody.

“I find sometimes in rugby league people have too many feelings.

“It’s competition. You’re trying to win and I’m trying to win, you’re doing your best and I’m doing my best.”

Scott was sent off for the indiscretion in a game that was a rare highlight in an otherwise disappointing season for the Sea Eagles, as they ran away eventual winners.

Walker’s attention is now on getting back on to the park and helping his side move up off the bottom of the ladder.

“It’s annoying to be honecst, I’m trying to do everything to get back playing,” Walker said.

“I’ve been doing a lot of bike and weights and circuit stuff.”
