Sparta Rotterdam player Stijn Spierings has scored one of the most bizarre own goals in football history.
Rotterdam were taking on Dordrecht in battle for relegation and promotion on Friday when the hilarious mishap occurred.
With just two minutes left in the game, Spierings smashed home a brilliant goal…into the wrong net.
Spierings appeared to be trying to prevent an opposition player from taking possession of the ball, but he overcooked his kick and sent it straight over his own keeper’s head and into the goals.
As funny as the own goal is, the keeper’s refusal to use his hands to try and save it is even better.
Luckily for Spierings, his side went on to snatch a 2-1 victory.
