Donald Trump, PGA reach settlement after association pulled event from Trump-owned golf course

The PGA reached a settlement with former President Donald Trump after the association pulled an event from one of Trump's golf courses, according to Reuters.

The PGA released a statement confirming the settlement. The terms of the settlement are confidential, but the PGA said both sides "expressed satisfaction with the agreement."

The association was supposed to hold the 2022 PGA Championship at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. The event was pulled from that location Jan. 10, four days after the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.

At the time, PGA CEO Seth Waugh said the damage of hosting the event at a Trump-owned golf course would be "irreparable." Waugh called the decision to leave, "The only real course of action."

The PGA did not specify whether it would host events at Trump-owned golf courses in the future.

Since leaving office Jan. 20, Trump — who was booted from most major social-media platforms — has mostly remained quiet. His rare public appearances have come in the sporting world, where Trump called a boxing match featuring Evander Holyfield and showed up at UFC 264 to watch Dustin Poirier take on Conor McGregor.
