The Western Bulldogs are set to be boosted by the return of star midfielder Jack Macrae for their AFL clash with Melbourne.

The struggling Dogs will visit the MCG for the first time this season on Saturday, with Macrae in the selection mix after recovering from a hamstring injury suffered in a loss to Port Adelaide in round 13.

Luke Beveridge's men are out of the finals race and playing for pride in 14th spot, while the sixth-ranked Demons are looking to cement their grip on a top-eight berth.
