'Dog act': Chicken wing controversy erupts after Riewoldt tackle
Richmond superstar Jack Riewoldt has come under some scrutiny during the Tigers’ Anzac Day Eve clash with Melbourne for what appeared to be a chicken wing tackle.
The Tigers forward wrapped up Demons youngster Bailey Fritsch halfway through the third quarter, but appeared to pull his opponent’s arm behind his back before releasing him.
Channel 7 commentator Wayne Carey said Riewoldt had realised what he was doing and released the tackle early enough not to be in trouble, but fans were unimpressed on social media.
“If he twists that right behind him…I think he realises it’s probably not the right position here,” Carey said during the broadcast.
The reaction online was swift, with many comparing it to Chris Judd’s infamous tackle on North Melbourne’s Leigh Adams, which earned the then-Carlton star a four game suspension.

Wonder if Jack Riewoldt will cop as much media backlash as Juddy did for that chicken wing. He grabbed the guys wrist and pulled His arm behind his back #AFLTigersDees

Not even part of the tackle action. Made a conscious decision to grab the arm and yank it back more. Dog act. Judd got 4. Jack should get weeks too. But who am I kidding? He’s a tiger, nothing to see.

Richmond’s injury woes continue
Despite claiming a convincing win over the Demons on Wednesday night, the injury curse continued to dog the Tigers.
Riewoldt was seen going into the rooms in the fourth quarter of the blowout win over Melbourne.
Several reports from the ground indicated the Tigers star was having problems with his knee.

'Let's just hope that it's nothing too serious for Jack Riewoldt as Richmond can't afford any more injuries'.
Carlton from 2016-2018 say 'Hi' by the way.
