Djuma reveals reason for Okwi absence

Simba star striker Emmanuel Okwi has started training with the first team after being away from action for more than a month.

Simba caretaker Coach, Masoud Djuma, has told Goal that he is the one who advised Okwi to stay in Uganda until he had his family issues sorted and could focus on his football.

“Okwi is back and has joined the squad for training, I think he has returned fresh and will help us win matches,” said Djuma.

The Burundian coach further said that he knows Okwi is a good player but he is now supposed to show he is fit enough to start against Singida United.

Okwi is the Premier League’s top goal scorer this season with eight goals despite being out of the squad for a long spell.
