Devin Singletary unselfishly declining a TD to seal a Giants win left over bettors in shambles
The New York Giants went into Cleveland as 6.5-point underdogs Sunday against the Browns, but another huge game from rookie Malik Nabers and a solid defensive performance helped propel them to an upset victory.
Before they could win, though, they had to kill the clock on a six-point lead late in the fourth quarter, and running back Devin Singletary did just that in a way that made his team happy but probably ticked off a decent amount of bettors and fantasy managers.
With just over two minutes left, Singletary broke off a 43-yard run that almost ended in a touchdown. Instead, the veteran went down at the one to allow the Giants to milk the rest of the clock.
Devin Singletary understood the assignment. That should ice the game for the @Giants!

Had he scored, the game would have went over what was a 38-point line on the total at kickoff. Instead, the 21-15 final score fell two points under.
Singletary's fantasy managers did at least get a touchdown from him earlier in the game. But who's ever been satisfied with one score when they could have had two.
Especially with the risk of a potential fumble on snaps, you can argue he probably should have scored and just gave New York the two-score lead. Regardless, it worked out, as the Giants went on to win.
