Andy Considine has announced his retirement from football after a 20-year senior career.

The defender, 37, enjoyed the bulk of his 645 appearances for first club Aberdeen, making his debut in May 2004.

He won three Scotland caps in 2020 and spent the past two seasons at St Johnstone.

"Sad because it's over but smiling because it happened," he wrote on Instagram. "Thank you football."

Considine helped Aberdeen win the Scottish League Cup in 2014 and it would prove to be his only medal.

A regular scorer, the left-sided player bagged a hat-trick against Dundee in 2017, eventually amassing 43 club goals.
