AUSTRALIA v PAKISTAN, FIRST TEST, DAY 3:

Score: Australia (580) lead Pakistan (240 and 3-64) by 276 runs.

Summary: Marnus Labuschagne picked up where he left off on Friday, cruising to a maiden century and just missing a double as Australia piled on the pain. Yasir Shah took four wickets but went for 200-plus runs for the third time in an innings in Australia, before Mitchell Starc tormented the Pakistani top order approaching stumps.

Man of the moment: Marnus Labuschagne. The new Australian No.3 admits his career has been a peculiar one to date, but him at first drop looks like becoming a very normal sight after a sublime maiden hundred at his home ground.

Key moment: Tim Paine decided to pull Mitchell Starc from the attack despite him taking a wicket in the previous over, therefore giving Pat Cummins a crack at Pakistan rock Asad Shafiq. Cummins obliged to grab the edge and send him back without scoring.

Stat of the day: It was the first time since the 2014 Boxing Day Test when an Australian side featuring Steve Smith passed 300 without the star batsman making double figures.

Quote of the day: "I think my career so far's been a bit peculiar, to be honest. I took a catch, wicket and run-out before I got a run. There was a time there in Dubai that I didn't think I was going to make a Test run. The way it's all unfolded is definitely not the way I pictured it in my mind," Marnus Labuschagne.
