If ever a Super Rugby team needed an injection of star power, it's the Brumbies.
The ACT side welcomes Wallabies star David Pocock back with open arms as they tackle the first of two games in South Africa against the Lions on Sunday morning (AEST).
Pocock has been sidelined for the past two games with a calf injury as the Brumbies' finals hopes have been virtually crushed.
The 30-year-old has played only four games this season after returning to the nation's capital from a 12-month sabbatical.
He isn't the only important inclusion, with No.8 Isi Naisarani recovering from an ankle injury that saw him miss the nail-biting 27-24 loss to Melbourne last week.
Kyle Godwin has also earned a recall, slotting into the No.12 as co-captain Christian Lealiifano shifts back to flyhalf.
Star prop Scott Sio has passed his concussion tests after copping a knock against the Rebels.
Co-captain Sam Carter says the team has gained confidence out of those inclusions
"It's massive to have (Pocock) back, he's world class," Carter told Fairfax Media.
"To have him coming back into your team with the leadership and experience he has, the boys will lift and everyone loves playing with him. I've got no doubt that will be any different this week."
Entering the match second bottom in the competition, Dan McKellar's team can take confidence from the last time they travelled to South Africa.
The Brumbies defeated the Kings in Port Elizabeth before backing up in Argentina against the Jaguares last year.
They will have milestone motivation for this clash as centre Tevita Kuridrani becomes the third Brumbies player to bring up 100 games this year.
Veteran Ben Alexander will extend his games record with the Brumbies as he lines up for his 150th appearance off the bench.
The Brumbies will start as significant underdogs for the match as the Lions sit atop the South African conference with six wins.
McKellar's men have a 3-7 record and are two and a half games behind the NSW Waratahs on top of the conference.
