Dak Prescott returns, scores after taking massive shot against Falcons

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott took a vicious shot to the head in the third quarter of their wild 40-39 comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon and was forced out of the game.

Yet just two plays later, Prescott returned to the field and scored a touchdown himself.

Prescott returns after huge hit

Thanks to a huge 58-yard pass to Amari Cooper, Dallas was set up in the red zone midway through the third quarter on Sunday at AT&T Stadium, looking for their second score of the half after a rough start to the game.

Prescott dropped back to pass from the 7-yard line and found tight end Dalton Schultz for a 6-yard gain. As he got rid of the ball, however, Falcons linebacker Deion Jones delivered a brutal hit that sent Prescott flying back and to the ground hard.

Jones was called for a personal foul, and Prescott left the game for the medical tent. Dallas backup Andy Dalton then took his place.

After being evaluated by the medical staff, however, Prescott returned to the game after two plays. He then finished the drive with a 1-yard run to score himself, bringing the Cowboys back within five points. Dallas went on to win 40-39 as Greg Zuerlein kicked a 46-yard field goal as time expired.

The rushing touchdown was Prescott’s second of the quarter, following a 2-yard run earlier in the third.
