The Crown's Elizabeth Debicki has spoken about filming scenes depicting Princess Diana's final days.
In the poster for The Crown's final season, Debicki is seen in a turquoise swimsuit, an exact replica of the one Diana was photographed wearing while onboard a yacht off the coast of Portofino a week before her death.
Speaking about the swimsuit scene, Debicki said: "There was just something about that swimsuit and recreating that moment that felt very sacred, and it was very important we got it right. It was difficult to recreate."
Debicki also talked about filming scenes that showed the pursuit of Diana by the press: "At times it's almost like an animalistic response to being pursued, by that many actors playing the Press, because there's nowhere you can go and you only have to be in a situation like that for about a minute before you realise this is completely unbearable."
Debicki described filming Diana's final 24 hours as "very demanding" adding: "I think it's going to be really interesting to see how people respond to the show."
Part one will consist of four episodes and depict the budding romance between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed before their tragic deaths in Paris. Part two will be six episodes, focusing on a young Prince William as he adapts to life after his mother's death. The final episodes will also show Willian's meeting with future wife Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge.
