Australia's Cricket World Cup campaign is yet to really get rolling.

With just one win, some shared points and a tight loss to New Zealand the Aussies are not nearly as well placed as they would have liked.

And if they want to miss a quarter final showdown with an in-form South Africa they need to start winning games.

So today's clash against minnows Afghanistan shapes as the perfect opportunity to start grinding through the gears and getting some confidence back into their batsmen.

They obviously cannot afford to take Afghanistan too lightly but they really should not pose too much of a problem for the Aussies.
