Shane Warne and Marlon Samuels

Melbourne Stars' captain Shane Warne clashed with Melbourne Renegades' Marlon Samuels, grabbing the bowler's shirt and exchanging heated words. Warne appeared to be reacting to an earlier incident when Samuels appeared to impede David Hussey. In a separate scuffle, Warne hit Samuels body with a bowling effort, with Samuels throwing his bat down in protest. Warne faced three charged and was banned for one match and fined $4500. They missed the classic photo of S Waugh and Ambrose, where Ambrose is towering over Waugh trying to intimidate him, and Waugh is unfazed, understandably so considering batsmen wear suits of armour and carry clubs, it's a bit difficult for any fast bowler to be physically intimidating.

Thought 'twas in 1981 not 2001. Was my fave pic from my 1st book on cricketers, which was given in late 1988. Was hardly a kick I thought, more like a dust scattering, but that's when I enjoyed cricket mostly because of captains back then. If someone miss fields or drops a catch, AB or Viv or others had no hesitations in sending them off for a rest.

So, ah, does this mean that Shane won't be getting the call up to the Australian cricket test team? Maybe he could do the "drinks break" in one of those fast little sports cars he likes to drive? Maybe it's time to retire... like totally.

I think it was some years or even decades before 2001 when Lillee and Javad had their spat on the field. The typist/jouno probably wasnt even born back then and only knows playstation, wii or x-box cricket.
