Ponting should be relieved of his playing duties. But won't be.
Clarke should go as well, but the marketing types like him.
Haddin as non-keeping captain is zany.
The Horse is a half trick pony.

I like that team chucker

I would have Watson down the order and keep Hughes as an opener with Marsh this could be the setting of the future opening partnership and sadly say goodbye to Ricky

Khawaja? The seventh best NSWelshman? Hahaha

Hilfenhorse - bowls one delivery and sometimes it swings - but not often enough. 4 wickets for the series, the poms are revelling in his zombie like work ethic.

the ashes are gone again so great time for a change.

Drop Ponting and blood a new team. Simple as that.

Of course they won't.

I like the idea of giving White a long look and the Captaincy. Though it does seem strange to try some one out that you want to appoint Captain.

Also don't know if Haddin is best Wicket keeper in the country, and would you keep him if he wasn't keeping?

Hughes is a no go in my mind, plays too loose.

On bowling, seems we are missing a leader in that group, all have shown flashes of brilliance, and flashes of mediocrity. Seems we need one who leads the group and always bowls line and length. A Stuart Clark type.

What a shame for Ricky, can't say I have been a big fan of his, but he gave his all for his team and country, it's a hell of a way for his career to end in such shambles.

But then again the way the selectors have gone, would suspect they make only one or two changes for Sydney

Some enlightening stats

Since Clarke split with Bingle,  18  innings, 1 century avge 32.2

Ponting has 2 centuries in his last 46 innings, and one of those was the double century when the @%&# dropped a dolly before he scored
His batting average  since Nov 2008  is   36.7

Marcus North batting average against England is 41.2, and he got dropped.  Katich batting average against England is 31, he has only one century in 23 innings against them, yet people are calling for his urgent recall for the Sydney test

Noel - McDonald has hand injury problems this summer unfortunately. He started in great form with both the bat & ball, but then broke his hand and in his return match picked up a calf strain after taking 3 for 1. If he can get his body right, stay injury free and maintain the form he started the season at he should get a look in.

Siddle is Australias 6th highest run scorer for the series so far.   Another  8, and he moves above Ponting into number 5 ( with 113 runs total after 4 tests)

Ponting has to go, he's been hopeless with the bat for 2 years now along with his immature deputy. Hilfenhaus can also get the boot for not enough wickets and Harris is the new sicknote it looks like. Smith can stay but Hughes' loose technique has me unconvinced that he can play at test level. Wade is younger than Paine and I'd prefer him in the test team but if Haddin was to become captain and be relieved of his keeping duties then Paine will most likely get picked by the selectors.

How people have short memories.M.Taylor and S.Waugh both fine leaders great captains, but have a look who they had in their teams.Ponting has a rough run the last 2 years, but take a look at the teams he had ,all but a few of them are 2ndX1 players at best.Ricky should bat at 6,bring in young players who can gel together stick with them and the Baggygreen will back at the top of the tree.It worked for   Border.By the way sack the the selectors. Boof chairman  the other 3, Healy, Jones, Hayden

Bring back Katich..... Move Watson to 3.

Hughes will be very very good. Give the bloke a chance.

If you drop him you will lose him I reckon.
