Aussie bowler channels Harmison with absolute howler

South Australian bowler Dan Worrall has evoked memories of Steve Harmison's shocking wide on the opening ball of the 2006/07 Ashes series.

Worrall was in fine form on Thursday as the Redbacks stunned Victoria to charge into the JLT One Day Cup final.

But his first delivery in Victoria's innings was horribly bad.

Worrall sent the delivery way wade of the batsman, the ball missing the pitch altogether.

The shocker immediately drew comparisons to Harmy's effort 11 years ago, when he sprayed the opening delivery of the first Ashes Test to second slip.

However as you can see in the video above, Worrall found his radar not long after to dismiss Aaron finch with an absolute beauty.

Worrall picked up two wickets in a tight opening spell and then ran through the tail to finish with career-best figures of 5-62.

A Jake Weatherald century and some brutal blows from Tom Cooper helped South Australia secure their place in the final with a dominant 176-run win.

After being sent in to bat in Thursday's elimination clash, SA reached 5-339 at Hobart's Bellerive Oval in a rain-reduced 48-over innings.

Under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method, Victoria needed 345 off 48 overs but were never in the hunt.

Back in Australia after touring India, big guns Finch (0) and Glenn Maxwell (12) fell cheaply as Victoria were toppled for 168. SA will now meet Western Australia in Saturday's final at the same ground.
