Bravo, McCullum seal T20 run chase for the ages

Darren Bravo and Brendon McCullum have combined to complete one of the most extraordinary run chases in Caribbean Premier League history.

The Trinbago Knight Riders looked dead and buried as they required 52-runs off the final 17 balls against the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots.

Amazingly though, Bravo and McCullum not only steered their side to an unlikely win, they did so with four balls to spare.

In an astonishing demonstration of big-hitting, the pair blasted eight sixes off 13 balls to escape with a dramatic eight-wicket win (Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method) in the rain-affected match.

A swashbuckling 93 from West Indian Chris Gayle set the Patriots up with a healty total of 3/162.

Following a period of rain interruption, the Knight Riders were set an adjusted target of 169-runs off 13-overs.

That target was again whittled down to 86 off six overs as rain persisted, but when play did resume few could have expected the fireworks that would follow.

Bravo belted six maximums off the final 13 balls of the match to finish up unbeaten on 38.

McCullum chimed in with 40-not-out (including three sixes) as the Knight Riders cemented their position on top of the league standings.
