Stokes injured during bizarre wardrobe malfunction

England all-rounder Ben Stokes suffered the double embarrassment of losing his pants and injuring himself at the same time against South Africa.

Stokes was fielding at cover early on day two of the second Test at Trent Bridge when he dived for a ball and made a nice stop.

However the Englishman came up clutching his side and stayed down for several minutes while he regathered himself.

The injury must have been particularly painful considering Stokes couldn't even pull his pants up after they'd come down during his diving stop.

South Africa held a 205-run lead at the end of day two thanks to a dismal batting display from the hosts.

England were skittled for 205 in just 51.5 overs, leaving them 130 runs short of the Proteas' first-innings total, and the tourists added a further 75 for the loss of one wicket before the close of play.
