Renshaw licks the cricket ball

Aussie opener Matt Renshaw has licked the ball after it became stuck in his helmet during a tense final day of play in the Third Test.

Just before he was dismissed lbw for 15 runs, a ball from Indian quick Ishant Sharma ended up inside the grill of Renshaw's helmet.

Instead of simply grabbing the ball and pulling it out, Renshaw tried to push it out with his tongue.

One can only imagine the health implications of his decision, especially considering the amount of saliva the Indians had placed on the ball throughout the session.
