Chris Tremain fools James Faulkner with over full of wides

Renegades paceman Chris Tremain bowled three wides, a no ball and a dot before dismissing Stars batsman James Faulkner with the second legal delivery of the over in the Melbourne derby.

The Stars needed 54 runs off 30 balls to defeat the Renegades when Tremain's third over, the 14th of the innings, began.

Tremain gave the Stars all the help they needed as he failed to hit a decent line and length.

As his frustration grew, Tremain was paid a visit by Renegades captain Aaron Finch ahead of the sixth ball of the over.

A slight change in the field and a more controlled delivery paid off, with Faulkner's impatience causing him to loft the ball to Finch for a simple catch.

The wicket kicked off a collapse that led to the Renegades securing victory by seven runs in a Duckworth-Lewis result.

Earlier, Stars batsman Kevin Pietersen had marked his return to Australian shores with a stunning catch.

The former England batsman sprinted towards the boundary rope as the ball sailed over the top, diving at the perfect time to remove Renegades opener Sunil Narine.
