Botha kicks goal after taking screamer in BBL

Sydney Sixers spinner Johan Botha must have thought he was a Sydney Swan after celebrating a stunning outfield catch with a kick Buddy Franklin would be proud of.

The South African was fielding in the deep during the Big Bash clash with the Perth Scorchers at the SCG when Sam Whiteman blasted a delivery high towards his position on the leg side boundary.

Botha showed incredible skill to haul in the catch just before he crossed the boundary rope, before transferring it to his right hand and throwing it up in the air to himself.

The Sixers spinner then darted back inside the boundary rope and casually plucked the ball back out of the air, before proceeding to boot it back towards his Sydney teammates.

The sensational catch left the Scorchers 3/69 inside the opening 9 overs, after the visitors had won the toss and chosen to bat.
