McCullum takes brilliant catch in final Test

SCORECARD: New Zealand v Australia, second Test

Not content with his record-breaking 54-ball century, Kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum has taken a brilliant catch to dismiss Nathan Lyon in his final Test.

The Aussie nightwatchman hung around for 33 vital runs before he was out edging to McCullum at slip off the bowling of Kane Williamson.

McCullum had to dive forward and managed to take a sharp one-handed grab inches off the turf.

The retiring New Zealand captain is certainly going out with a bang after his fireworks with the bat on day one.

His 54-ball century broke the world record for fastest-ever Test ton, bettering Sir Viv Richards and Misbah Ul Haq’s mark of 56 balls.

With his bowlers failing to make any significant inroads early on day three, he even took the ball and bowled a few overs.

McCullum is desperate to exit the game a winner but Australia will reclaim the No.1 Test ranking with a victory or draw.
