'Thongs are an institution...get a grip'
Former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen fired up at Qantas after he was refused entry into their first class lounge...because he was wearing thongs.
KP, who was on his way to Australia to play for the Melbourne Stars in this year’s Big Bash League, described the airline as “Muppets” for their stance on the ultra-Australian footwear option.
He took to Twitter to express his frustration, tweeting: 'I suggest you tell Platinum, First Class fliers that they not allowed in your lounges with flip flops before they fly, @Qantas! Muppets!'
'Thongs are an institution in this great country! GET A GRIP! Tired, jet lagged & just wanted to chill! #Muppets.'
I suggest you tell Platinum, First Class fliers that they not allowed in your lounges with flip flops before they fly, @Qantas! Muppets! 😡
