Aussie rapper pens touching Hughes tribute song

Australian hip hop artist Urthboy has released a new song paying tribute to the life of late cricketer Phillip Hughes.

A member of politically-charged rap collective The Herd, Urthboy has surprised the sport and music worlds with the tuned called 'Nambucca Boy'.

The track (which you can listen to in the player above) features Hughes' rise from country kid to Aussie Test star, his time out of the team and that fateful day in November last year.

Urthboy, aka Tim Levinson, said he was inspired to write the song after driving past a lit-up SCG soon after Hughes' tragic death.
