When will Cooper Kupp return? Latest injury updates on Rams WR
This article has been updated to reflect new information.
The Los Angeles Rams have had a disappointing start to 2024. As Week 7 approaches, they are 1-4 and have suffered multiple significant injuries on the offensive side of the ball.
Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is among them and has been out since injuring his ankle in Week 2. The Rams opted not to place the veteran receiver on Injured Reserve following the injury, which would have had him miss the next four games.
The Rams have also been without Puka Nacua since Week 1, which is a significant blow to their offense. Last season, Nacua set rookie records for receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486).
Here's the latest on Cooper Kupp's injury and potential return:
When will Cooper Kupp return?
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Kupp participated in individual drills with the wide receivers during Wednesday's practice. Head coach Sean McVay said Kupp is "trending in the right direction" to play in Week 7.
The Rams social media account posted a video of Kupp moving well on the field during Wednesday's workout.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Kupp had a positive workout Monday and that his return this week is still possible.
The Rams return from their Week 6 bye and will host the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7. If they had placed Kupp on IR, he would be out for the matchup with the Raiders and could have made his return in Week 8. Instead, there's a window open for Kupp to return this Sunday.
On Oct. 14, head coach Sean McVay told reporters Kupp is "making good progress." Kupp had an on-field workout scheduled with trainers the same day, which will determine if he could return to practice this week. "There is a possibility that he could be ready this week, there also is a possibility that he may not be ready" McVay added.
McVay had previously said that Week 7 was "always an optimistic target date" for the 31-year-old receiver.

As two defenders dragged down Kupp, his ankle was rolled up in the tackle. Kupp spent the following week in a cast due to his high ankle sprain on the play.
