The controversial video that's landed Mo Salah in hot water

Mohamed Salah has found himself on the wrong side of the law after video of the Liverpool star performing an illegal driving act went viral.

The Premier League leaders have alerted the Merseyside Police about the footage that shows Salah using his mobile phone while at the wheel of his vehicle.

The vision that’s been circulating on social media is thought to have been taken after the forward led his team to a 4-0 victory over West Ham United in their league opener.

Fans, including kids, could be heard jostling for Salah’s attention as the Reds star ignored their advances.

Salah continues on use device, before wheeling away from traffic on a busy road.

A Liverpool spokesperson said the club had made the police aware of the situation, with a tweet from the authorities appearing to confirm the incident.

The club says it will make no further comment on the matter and would deal with the issue ‘internally.’

“The club, after discussion with the player, have made Merseyside Police aware of the footage and the circumstances surrounding its capture,” read the statement, as reported in the Liverpool Echo.

“We have spoken to the player also and will deal with any follow-up internally.

“Neither the club or player will be making any further comment on this matter.”
