Conor McGregor copped some backlash from rivals after his Twitter rant at the lightweight division, but he has since confused fans with a cryptic tweet over a title fight.

McGregor decided to vent his feelings on Twitter after hitting send on seven posts that opined on UFC 249 without fans, the results in the lightweight division and his rival Nurmagomedov, among other things.

McGregor went of a few tangents but confirmed that he’s ready to make a return to the octagon even if fans aren’t able to attend - insisting he wants a crack at interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje (22-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC).

But after Nurmagomedov replied, slamming McGregor for his defeat at the hands of the Russian, McGregor responded with another cryptic message about the lightweight division.

However, McGregor doesn’t appear to be in line for the next showdown with Nurmagomedov prompting speculation over what his tweet was about.

Furthermore, Gaethje’s trainer said McGregor was not next in line to fight the interim champ.

Gaethje’s manager Ali Abdelaziz responded to the tweets with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.

He said the next fight would be Nurmagomedov and Gaethje.

He said McGregor could be the co-main event, which could prompt more from McGregor soon.
