Kid’s wild NBA dance cam antics steal the show, thoroughly embarrass mother

Virtually every NBA franchise has a dance cam segment, where they scan the crowd for fans willing to make a horse’s rear end of themselves on video for the amusement of others. There are lots of these people, but the best of that subset of fans are almost always children.

Case in point: The young chap you see in the video above, who provided “old school” moves which were at once hilarious and slightly horrifying.

As first brought to Prep Rally’s attention by Off the Bench, a wildly gyrating youngster stole the old school dance cam segment during a recent Pacers-Rockets game in Indianapolis. While his repertoire was marked mostly by a series of elaborate hand moves, he also incorporated a solid amount of pelvic thrusts and hip gyrations, particularly for an elementary schooler.

The reverse-wrist, swerving, semi-hula move was particularly impressive. He's one heck of an athlete, based on flexibility alone.

Yet, as hilarious as the unnamed dancer was for the first 15 seconds, he was also on the absolute edge of painful awkwardness for the final 20 seconds. You can even watch the moment when his mother’s unease at the possibility of her son’s Billy Elliot tendencies gets the best of her, with a direct reach across the dancer's sister in an attempt to get him to stop at 40 second mark.

No dice, Mom. There’s no stopping that dancing machine.

Of course, the segment eventually ended, with our dramatic dancing superstar finishing with a full-armed, celebratory flourish. He clearly won the night. The better question is whether the Pacers were smart enough to corner his family at some point after the dancing escapade and offer up a pair of free tickets so long as their youngest member continues to dance wildly during home games.

If nothing else, the kiddo must be good luck; the Pacers topped the Rockets, 105-95.
