Brisbane Roar haven't thought about signing ex-Liverpool winger Kewell

Brisbane Roar head coach Mike Mulvey says he has not entertained the thought of signing Harry Kewell this summer.

The former Leeds United and Liverpool man has been linked with a possible move to the Roar in the New Year but Mulvey insists the back-to-back A-League champions will scour Central and South America in search of a new attacker instead.

"I've not had any contact with regards to Harry Kewell," Mulvey said.

"We're pursuing some other options at the moment and we're limited with salary cap issues. There's a player from South America and a player from Central America who we're looking at. They're both attacking players.

"We're looking for a quality player who can come in and add to the squad. I haven't thought about the Kewell situation."
