Former Hawthorn player linked to peptides, bikie gang: report

Former Hawthorn player Trent Croad was involved in a peptide supply deal linked to an outlaw bikie gang, according to a report in Fairfax newspapers.

Fairfax is reporting that Croad, a 2008 premiership winner and 2005 All Australian defender, has been investigated by the Australian Crime Commission.

The report claims Croad had confided in friends that he met figures associated with the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang last year in relation to a deal involving the sale of peptides.

At the time of the meeting, peptides were unregulated and it was not illegal to sell them

AFL sources have told Fairfax that Croad approached at least two clubs offering to supply them with supplements

Until late last year, Croad held a senior role at the Epigenx medical practice in Melbourne.

In September last year, Croad started a company called Pharma Ventures.

He made no comment in the Fairfax report.
