Twinkle-toed Chris Rogers shows off his dance moves

Chris Rogers mesmerised England's cricketers with his quick feet during the Ashes and the Aussie opener has transferred his skills to the dance floor to good effect.

Veteran Rogers is enjoying the highest point of his long career, having smashed two centuries as Australia completed a memorable 5-0 Ashes whitewash.

The 36-year-old is quite a reserved character, at least in front of the media, and is known for his solid defence rather than flashy stroke play.

But it's a different story on the dance floor and he showed off his impressive moves in front of an adoring crowd at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday.

Rogers arrived late to the harbourside celebration and wasn't present when the Australian squad were introduced on stage alongside Prime Minster Tony Abbott.

The official line was that he simply missed his alarm and slept in, but his silky moves and a few cheeky comments from his teammates indicated the man known as Buck was simply enjoying the celebrations.

Rogers copped a gentle ribbing from paceman Ryan Harris and received a text message reminder from fellow opener David Warner.

"We thought he was in jail actually," Harris joked.

As well as entertaining the masses with his dancing, Rogers was more than willing to sign autographs and pose for photos with eager fans.

Man of the series Mitchell Johnson received the biggest roar of the day when he was introduced to the crowd - and described the joy he took in shutting up England's support group, the Barmy Army.

"The Barmy Army have given me a hard time over the years, so it was nice to be able to turn around put five fingers up (at the SCG) and say 5-0 (to them)," he said.
