Losing skater flips opponents the bird

Look, competition is tough. Sometimes, you can work your entire life for a goal, and it doesn't quite go your way. And sometimes, there's nothing to do but curse cruel fate ... and let your opponent know exactly what you think of him.

That demonstrative fellow there on the right is Sjinkie Knegt of the Netherlands, who just lost to Russia's Viktor Ahn in the 5000m relay of the ISU European short track speed skating championships in Dresden. Alas, Knegt's display of less-than-sterling sportsmanship got him an instant disqualification.

Both Knegt and Ahn will be competing next month in the Olympics, and this ought to put a bit more of a spotlight on Knegt going forward.
