Clarke's squad selection 'a long time away'

Steve Clarke insists his final squad selection for Scotland's Euro 2024 appearance "is a long time away".

Substitutes Kenny McLean and Lawrence Shankland made an impact in Thursday's 2-2 draw with Georgia with McLean setting up Scott McTominay's equaliser and Shankland heading the second.

"At international fixtures, chances are limited, but not for club fixtures - they've got plenty of time," said Clarke.

"I'm not putting anybody under pressure. The squad selection is a long time away and between now and squad selection, you know that football is football, that there will be some things that turn up that you don't expect.

"I don't put any numbers on it. I don't put any limits on it because I know going into the last tournament we lost a couple of players that I didn't expect to lose. So, there's a long way to go before next summer."
