Clarke nominated for RPA January award - Scotland Women squad watch

Scotland prop Elliann Clarke has been nominated for the RPA's under-23 Player of the Month award. The tighthead started alongside Evie Gallagher in Bristol Bears' 22-12 win over Exeter Chiefs, with Lana Skeldon coming off the bench.

Meryl Smith also started for Bristol in the West Country derby, wearing the 15 shirt at fullback.

Winger Francesca McGhie scored as Leicester Tigers suffered a seven-point loss to Gloucester-Hartpury, with the all Scottish front-row of Leah Bartlett, Elis Martin and Lisa Cockburn named in the starting XV. Eva Donaldson came off the bench.

Caity Mattinson was the replacement scrum-half for the winning side, who remain second in the league.

Saracens bounced back from defeat to Gloucester-Hartpury with a dominant win over Trailfinders, in which Louise McMillan and winger Coreen Grant started. Beth Blacklock and Isla Alejandro were replacements.

Sarah Bonar was vice-captain for Harlequins in the biggest win of the weekend as the London side battered Sale Sharks 53-12. Mhairi Grieve started at scrum-half for the losing side, with prop Anne Young coming off the bench.
