Chiefs lineman Tershawn Wharton saved a kid who fell over stadium railing

There were plenty of important catches made on Sunday around the NFL, but none were as crucial as the catch Chiefs' lineman Tershawn Wharton made after Kansas City's game against Carolina.

As Wharton and his teammates were walking back into the locker room following the game, there was a kid in the stands trying to catch his attention. The child leaned on the wall over the tunnel and accidentally tipped over it.

Seemingly, without even thinking about it, Wharton snagged the kid as he was falling and stopped him from hitting the ground, potentially avoiding serious injury.

PHEW. Folks, that was a close one. As close as it gets. That looks like it could've gone badly.

Wharton talked about the catch on the Pat McAfee show on ESPN Tuesday. He said he was taking his gloves off to toss them into the crowd when, suddenly, he saw the kid falling.

"I think I heard my name a little bit. And when I heard my name, I seen him coming down," Wharton said. "It was two security guards right there. I don't think they realized what I was doing because they was looking at us. But I had to kind of push him into the stands a little bit to make sure he didn't hit too hard."

Wharton is a hero, man. That's awesome stuff.

His kindness doesn't stop there. He also said he'd like to bring the kid out to the game and "reflect with him a little bit more" on the moment.

Hopefully, the Chiefs can make that happen.
