‘RUINING FOOTBALL’: VAR 'madness' overshadows EPL blockbuster

Hazard was put clean through on goal after a delicate Karim Benzema pass and the 29-year-old rounded the goalkeeper with ease.

But with just the goal begging, on his weaker foot, Hazard lifted the ball and hit the crossbar.

Hazard’s start to life in the famous white shirt has not got off to the best start with the former Blues gun searching for his best form.

But with a hefty $162 million price tag, many Madrid fans were left stunned when the Belgian had a chance to bury the clash against Galatasary.

Hazard was promptly substituted following the miss in the 78th minute.

PSG march on

In Belgium, PSG put home team Club Brugge to the sword with Kylian Mbappe (61st, 79th, 83rd) grabbing a hat-trick and Mauro Icardi registering a brace (7th, 63rd).

The win gives them a 100 per cent record in Group A with Real Madrid moving to second after their 1-0 win over Galatasaray, with Toni Kroos scoring the all important goal in the 18th minute.

In earlier matches, Alvaro Morata's 78th-minute header earned Atletico Madrid a 1-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen.

Diego Costa spurned a good chance after a tight first half, with bottom of the group Leverkusen holding their own.

But Atletico turned up the pressure and substitute Morata nodded home from Renan Lodi's excellent cross to send them to second in Group D equal on points with Juventus.
