The draw for the Champions League group stage takes place today.

Real Madrid will be among the favourites as they look to defend their crown while Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are among the sides desperate to finally get their hands on the trophy.

A number of teams are back in the draw, such as Tottenham who return to Europe’s top table under Antonio Conte and Rangers who ended their 12-year group-stage wait on Wednesday.

When is the Champions League group stage draw?

The draw will take place today, Thursday, August 25, 2022.

It will be held in Istanbul, hosts of the 2023 Champions League final.

What time is the Champions League group stage draw?

The draw is currently scheduled to take place at 5pm BST.

Have the pots been decided?

Pot 1 is made up of the Champions League and Europa League winners of last season plus the victors of the top-six leagues.

The pots from then on are made up entirely of the teams with the highest coefficient rankings, with Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool in Pot 2.

There are two German, two Italian and two Portuguese teams in Pot 3 with Celtic and Rangers both in Pot 4.
