Callaghan hits hat-trick as Cliftonville go top

Cliftonville moved to the top of the Women's Premiership with an 8-1 win over Lisburn Rangers at Crewe Park.

The Reds went into the game trailing Glentoran only on goal difference at the top of the table but made light work of their game in hand, winning for an 11th time in 11 games this season.

Northern Ireland international Marissa Callaghan struck twice in the first six minutes to put her side in control and completed her treble with a penalty just before the half hour mark.

Kirsty McGuinness and Danielle Maxwell scored either side of half time to make it 5-0, with both going on to find the net again, while substitute Carla Devine also got her name on the scoresheet.

Sophie Megaw scored a late consolation for Lisburn Rangers, who remain third in the table.

With five games remaining, Cliftonville will aim to move one step closer to the title when they face Lisburn Ladies at Solitude on Friday night.
