Brighton 4-0 Crawley - the fans' verdict
We asked for your thoughts after Tuesday's Carabao Cup game between Brighton and Crawley Town.
Here are some of your comments:
Andrew: Went to the Amex and watched a very competitive match. Crawley made it a tough game at times against what might be described as our second team. However, we were packed with talent and energy and our class shone through. Towards the end we were creating chances at will. Added spice at the end when Crofts and the Crawley manager squared up.
Mick: A difficult game, poorly refereed. Typical lower league, physical team. Clinical finishing from Brighton. Some good performances - Baleba, Sarmiento, Enciso and Webster the pick of the bunch. The injury to O'Riley looked serious but went unpunished. We wish him the best. Look forward to playing a more accomplished team in the next round. Keep the faith.
David: Crawley looked like a team, Brighton a group of 10 who just met up for a game - which I suppose they were with so many new players. Four more goals and a clean sheet is admirable and we can only improve with more games played.
Liam: We were a bit dodgy in the first 29 minutes but the goal settled our nerves a bit. In the second half it was all Brighton, leaving Crawley behind in the dust.
Peter: I went to the U21 match last Tuesday at Crawley and it was a similar team that came (in my eyes) to kick us off the park. I can only hope that O’Riley will be OK. As to the match, Crawley did have the majority of the match (unusual for the Albion) and, with better finishing, could have scored.
Colin: I fail to understand why you would risk a player signed on Monday for £25m plus in a meaningless game. I think this was gross mismanagement.
