Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War picked up the story of Ichigo, Rukia and the soul society over a decade after the hit anime was last on screen.
Fans of Tite Kubo's original manga were particularly excited about the return since the franchise's final arc remained unadapted when the show was officially canceled back in 2012.
Production company VizMedia announced ahead of the release that Bleach's epic finale would be released in four 'cours' of 13 episodes, with breaks in between each cour.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 began airing on Disney+ in the UK on July 8, with subsequent episodes released every Saturday on the platform. Viewers in the US can watch the sequel series on Hulu.

In an announcement shared on August 22, staff confirmed that episode 22 would act as a recap of the series thus far, airing on September 2.
More excitingly, they confirmed that Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Part 2 would conclude with an epic, hour-long finale episode combining episodes 25 and 26 on September 30.

Bleach season 16 aired all the way back in 2012, and anime viewers have spent the subsequent decade wondering whether the final arcs of Tite Kubo's legendary manga would ever be adapted for the small screen.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War also features the full English voice cast reprising their roles, including Johnny Yong Bosch as Ichigo Kurosaki, Michelle Ruff as Rukia Kuchiki, as Uryu Ishida, Stephanie Sheh as Orihime Inoue, Wally Wingert as Renji Abarai, and Doug Erholtz as Kisuke Urahara.
Anime fans should also be excited by the addition of Daiki Yamashita (Midoriya in My Hero Academia) and Asami Seto (Nobara Kugisaki in Jujutsu Kaisen) as two new characters.
