The Piano Man is coming to CBS: A Billy Joel concert special will air on the Eye network on Sunday, Apr. 14 at 9/8c, TVLine has learned.
The special, titled The 100th: Billy Joel Live at Madison Square Garden — The Greatest Arena Run of All Time, will be shot at Joel’s record-breaking 100th consecutive performance at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Mar. 28 as part of his franchise run. Joel’s longstanding MSG residency will end in July; he has sold out the iconic venue more often than any other artist.

This marks Joel’s first concert to air on a broadcast network. The Grammy winner has had several previous concert specials that aired on pay cable and PBS, including 1990’s Billy Joel: Live at Yankee Stadium.
A native New Yorker, Joel has sold more than 160 million records worldwide across his legendary music career, with signature hits like “Piano Man,” “Just the Way You Are,” “Uptown Girl” and “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999. Joel performed at this month’s Grammy Awards on CBS and also debuted his first new pop single in more than a decade, “Turn the Lights Back On.”
